Jan. 31st, 2007 07:01 pmEh, so I had the new guy over last night again. We'll call him Patrick.
Patrick was in the neighborhood for an evening class so I offered to make dinner. I went for a breakfasty-dinner and whipped up a quiche and hashbrowns. First time I tried the quiche with spinach instead of broccoli, and it turned out well. Yukon gold potatoes are clearly superior for hashbrowns....I made the shredded kind, not diced. I also can tell they will make superb potato pancakes, so I'll have to venture into those sometime....yum!
The original intention was to go see The Queen at the movies, however we ended up staying in instead for more intimate time. The time was enjoyed, however time flies when you're having fun. I need for us to do more dates out, as the dates in don't end early, and my schedule is too cramped for that all the time, despite the enjoyment.
Didn't get into too many deep subjects of discussion. Talked a bit more about family, especially with my grandfather's passing. That was a good conversation to have. We also talked about music some and I pulled out some different music from the vaults. Patrick is not familiar with a ton of pop music, so I think we'll be able to have fun exploring a bit. He does like Billy Joel though, so I am leaning toward getting us those tickets (maybe I'll do that as a valentines day gift.) He also loves chocolate....I let him each chocolate chips when he was over....heh....as bad as me...
I think we might talk by phone about some stuff over the weekend if it seems appropriate.....I'll just be driving back from Cincinnati, so maybe we can talk about some deeper items unless it seems awkward to do so over the phone.
Oh, so yeah, the funeral for my grandfather is on Friday, so I'm travelling down Thursday night and probably coming back on Saturday. Taco Night folks are planning to be in Columbus on Saturday evening to celebrate Karen's birthday, so I'll likely still do that and cut my return trip in two.
Now I just need to finish a bunch of school stuff, chorus stuff, packing, and a couple other things of importance this evening.....fun fun.
